How It Started

ProrateCalculator.com was born from a real-world problem. A property management company was using a complex Excel workbook to calculate move-in prorations — tracking prorated rent, service rates, fees, deposits, and the total amount due at move-in. It worked, but it was clunky, easy to break, and hard to share.

The idea was simple: take what that spreadsheet did and turn it into something faster, cleaner, and accessible from anywhere — without needing Excel at all. That's exactly what this site does.
